This required an assessment of the ways drains, water storage, and nearby creeks were impacting each of the sites.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_370\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-370\" style=\"width: 224px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-370 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.valenza-engineering.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/IMG_0041-e1524532830810-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.valenza-engineering.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/IMG_0041-e1524532830810-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/www.valenza-engineering.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/IMG_0041-e1524532830810-768x1028.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.valenza-engineering.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/IMG_0041-e1524532830810-765x1024.jpg 765w, https:\/\/www.valenza-engineering.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/IMG_0041-e1524532830810.jpg 1936w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-370\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Core logging<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Valenza Engineering, working with Mining One, advised on a complex series of projects to manage mining spoil storage and water issues.<\/p>\n<p>We planned and conducted detailed site investigations to determine hydraulic conductivity, interactions between groundwater and surface water storages, developing detailed understandings of the site characteristics.\u00a0We used the results of our testing to develop numerical seepage models and further assess the hydrogeology and simulate groundwater conditions. The models were used to\u00a0explore options for the site management and develop guidelines for safe operation.<\/p>\n<p>Our understanding of the hydrogeology informed geotechnical assessments and
